Ohmygoodness oral was horrible!
Really really terrible. I can't relive it here though cause it's way too embaressing:/ Oh man.

Oh i signed up for the Youth Olympic Games hosting thing, meaning that im really really interested in going for the courses which will prepare us for the Newscasting/News Reporting/DJ thingy next year :D Anyone else wanna join me? (:

Anyways im really going crazy these days! Just so busybusybusy D: And all the homework's always hindering my revision; so right now im not on track for my prelim one schedule that i oh-so-carefully planned out. So much for timetables ):

Really sorry about all the noise pollution i've been adding to our classroom. I just have to destress sometimes. Reallyreally. & it so happens that my stress comes across as madness. Whale sounds don't usually come through naturally in normal situations. I think. ohwell this is exactly what happens when you're a good ole sec 4. You just wait, sooner or later you'll find yourself talking/singing to yourself, screaming randomly or doing synchronised actions to nursery rhymes with your table partners. (if you haven't already started, that is)

So tell me about what's been happening in your lives! That's what this blog is for right? I know we're all busy but pleaseee(:

WHAT. how can adam be in the BOTTOM TWO?!

YAY CEDAR! We are so awesome man.

GREAT JOB TRACK & FIELD-ERS, TABLE TENNIS-ERS, CHOIR-ERS, DANCERS, BAND-ERS, NEHBALLERS, VOLLEYBALLERS, BASKETBALLERS, ELDDS-ERS, CLDDS-ERS, MLDDS-ERS, TLDDS-ERS, BADMINTON-ERS, GUZHENG-ERS, UNIFORMED GROUP-ERS. All of you have done Cedar SO proud(:

And all the best to HANDBELL-ERS :D

Hahahah we were so high before even getting to the stadium. Sugar rush mann. Sorry all 4Mians disturbed by the strange sounds coming from our corner:P

When we actually got there we were still quite filled with energy, until we realised that the races all had these huge breaks in between. We'd get up and cheer like crazy for 2 mins then sit back down and melt in the heat. Our energy level was like a sine curve reapeated over & over again. Hahah okay that was a bad analogy. It just wasn't exactly what I expected. Hmmm.

Well I must say this! Jedidah my fabulous twin did so well!! And so did my blur SQUIDONG :D i was screaming my lungs out for the both of you; till my voice broke and I had to drink water. hahah.

Today the Captains said their speeches & you guys really made me feel like crying ): Even though im not in track! Your heartfelt words expressed feelings that struck me right there and then; early in the morning when i could barely open my eyes; in the most unexpected way. I can't imagine how i'd have held back my tears if i were part of the Cedar Athletic Team, listening to all that you had to say. And yes Lisa, if you really want me to say it, you looked cute up there:D hahahah

We don't have much longer before our fishy group'll be spilt up D: I'm sho saddd); Must always rmb the row row song in the slow to fast beat okayy? And practice at home too :D

Kathleen banana's playing online checkers with me now:D

Okay i think that's enough ranting for now.

Ohoh! ShamWOOHOO by nigahiga is so funny! Everyone who's anyone should go watch it (:

Curly wurlys?! Hahahah yes it is the postcard girl(:

<3tashi!
(: (: (:

Hey tash!! Gosh yes, the cards. and I remember the songs.. I sang it to you during chalet 2 years back and you laughed at me. I was trying to be passionate and sing with my heart you know! Man, ha_n't heard that song in ages as well. do you know smth? In my letters box, the first e_er letter you wrote to me is ALWAYS at the top. Cos I'm trying to sa_e those wa_es till the ery end((: Those curly wurlys you stuck on! Hahaha, and that girl, isn't she the one on the postcards?? well I hae her on mine haha. I don't remember drawing bananas doing celebratory dance though heh:p
Whooo. Haha, but yes, the super heroes! :D you know, they're my prized ones now, the ones i hae left. so didn't use them. hahaha. kay, it's been so long back here.

Bye!

Hey(:

Today I went searching all over my room for the letters and postcards you Bananas gave me since sec 1. I'd really forgotten all about them till I was reminded by something just yesterday. And then i finally saw them; a small bundle lying there and i was like whooo, at last! Hahah i must've looked a bit mad, sitting on the floor laughing random at times while reading all those funny letters.

Mandy banana! I realised that you didnt write much at all last time. But recently you seem a lot more responsive:) Kathleen banana, i saw the superheroes postcard you gave me oh-so-long ago:D You labelled those musclely flying people Banana #1, #2 and #3. And you drew this hilarious bunch of bananas doing a celebratory dance. I couldn't stop laughing. hahaha

Then i saw this pretty pretty card you made for me at the end of sec 2. You had written this really long letter, and i was like woahh. I was wondering why in the world it was tucked away in my room instead of being put in the centre of my table where i could see it everyday. It was.. hmmm how should i put this. It was.. an emotional time reading what you wrote, so much so that i couldnt see the paper properly at times, and i had to blink a lot and bring the paper real close to my face in order see your handwriting clearly. hahah probably looked like some old lady with something in her eye. Anyways, you copied down the lyrics to three songs too; do you remember what they were? Hahah i don't know if you do, but they were Best of Friends (The Fox and the Hound), You've Got A Friend In Me (Toy Story) & Let's Get Together (The Parent Trap).

I was so moved by this one; for so many reasons

Best Of Friends (from THE FOX AND THE HOUND)

When you're the best of friends

Having so much fun together

You're not even aware, you're such a funny pair

You're the best of friends

Life's a happy game

You could clown around forever

Neither one of you sees, your natural boundaries

Life's one happy game

If only the world wouldn't get in the way

If only people would just let you play

They say you're both being fools

You're breaking all the rules

They can't understand, the magic of your wonderland

When you're the best of friends

Sharing all that you discover

When that moment has past, will that friendship last?

Who can say?

There's a way!

Oh I hope... I hope it never ends

'Cause you're the best of friends

Hey, and you know what? I remembered that time when you sang Let's Get Together and taught me how to sing it too(: And i sat there in my room singing, remembering what i should have kept close to my heart all along. My sister gave me a weird look when she saw me singing to a piece of paper with my name drawn on it. hahahah

I don't want to forget. Yes i guess i've realised that. Mann, but the pain i feel when i do remember ): it just shows how much you mean to me.

And i'll use your favourite quote, "Anything essential is invisible to the eyes" as a reminder to myself that though i don't see you around much, you'll still be here in my heart, just like you said in your letter:)

Bananas! You mean alotalotalot to me(: I'll always remember, those whacky crazy times..

Isn't she adorable:D

Today I've got really good news! I just received my results for my Grade 8 piano practical exam which I took on 11 March 09 and I passed! This is a really big achievement for me because of all I've been through the past 2 and a half years.

It's been such a roller coaster ride with so many ups and downs I didnt know if I could ever make it through. I know there are many people who are really talented in music and they get distinctions for their Grade 8 piano practical but a pass is a pass and this means so much to me. I know it's not because of my hard work, I can't tell you how many times I have put off practising my piano. It's not because I finally got the luck I needed or anything. It's not because I've got talent. It's because of Jesus. I'm so sure of this. Those who are not Christians, you may find this a bit too spiritual or something but definitely, it is somewhat of a miracle.
I've faced many obstacles to get to this result and the day I actually hold the certificate in my hand (when ABRSM send it to me) will be quite emotional. Actually it still hasn't quite sunk in yet.

Thank you so much Jesus. I've been in so much emotional turmoil when my piano teacher told me to register for the September exam just in case I didn't pass in March. I felt like my teacher didn't believe in my ability. I felt that I would just fall apart if I failed again. I didn't know what to do because I didn't want to take the exam again in September when it was so near my O's and I wouldn't have time to practise. However, if I didnt sign up by the end of February for the September exam, I would have to take the exam next year, and with a new syllabus which would be worse.

I asked the Lord to help me make the right decision. In my heart, I didn't want to sign up for September so I went along with that feeling, trusting that the Lord would deliver me. How great is Jesus! He has given me the victory and I can't thank Him enough for it. I think the Lord is trying to show me that as long as I continue to trust in His ability to deliver me and make me victorious and not rely on my own ability (which is quite honestly, horribly lacking), He would definitely bless me. Thank you so much Jesus!!

Oh and another 'big' event that happened this week was my Chinese Prelims Oral yesterday. I felt that the passage and the conversation topic was much easier than last year's and so I trust that Lord will help me to get good results this time round. However, it is more important to do well for the O level oral than this Prelims and hence I shall start working hard and trusting in the Lord for success!

Thank you for everything, Jesus.

Mandy

Say Goodbye to the March Hols!

This is another reposting of my LMS blog post this week. So details might be a bit sketchy. Btw, can you post our nature walk pics here please? Thanks so much!

SAY GOODBYE TO THE MARCH HOLS!!

Ok so the March holidays are coming to an end. I seriously felt that the one and a half week just went whizzing by. I did my fair share of homework as well as relaxation(in fact I really relaxed more than I would during term time) so I guess I shouldn't complain. Here's a recap of my week's highlights starting from Sat till today.

Sat-> My cousin's wedding! At the Marriot Hotel. I seriously love weddings. They are always so much fun.I didn't attend the tea ceremony or hang around the bride and bridegroom(bridegroom's my cousin) which was a pity because I heard most of the action was during the day. I went for the dinner banquet though! I forgot to mention earlier, this is my third wedding I've ever attended, the other two were also my cousin's weddings.(I will have more to look forward to in the near future since most of my cousins are of marriageable age and I'm the youngest of all my cousins!)

One of the reasons why I find weddings to be extremely fun is because the seating arrangements are always made to let my parents, aunts and uncles sit together while the cousins all sit at another table. In other words, each table only has one generation. So, weddings are one of the best times to catch up with my cousins and do crazy stuff! By crazy, I mean yelling out 'yam seng!' at the top of our voices and dragging it super long just to irritate the older generations and we also try wine and beer. Yes we know we are underage but we're fully aware that our parents are at another table and we can try alcohol for free! I'm not encouraging people to become alcoholics but seriously, if you ever wanted to know how red/white wine or beer tasted like, a wedding is the best place to do it. Plus you're only going to take only one or two sips because the taste will totally put you off! I had quite a good time at the wedding and I only reached home at about 12 plus in the morning so I was dead tired on Sunday.

I nearly forgot but I really have to mention this. I was at first a little disappointed that I had to go for the wedding dinner because on Saturday night, there was the super big clash between Man U and Liverpool at Old Trafford and I really wanted to watch it. My uncle told me the score midway through the wedding and that just totally made me enjoy Sat night even more! Yes Liverpool beat Man Utd 4-1 and even if Man U ends up retaining the EPL title(I really hope they don't), at least it can be seen that Liverpool is taking great strides and who knows, they might win the EPL in the very near future!

Recently,I've also watched Slumdog Millionaire. It is a really good movie so I advise everyone who is 16 and above to go watch. Actually, I dont see why it is rated NC16 because I don't find it extremely gory or violent at all. In fact the plot was quite good and I liked the happy ending. Go watch it, by whatever means if you're not 16 yet!

Tuesday we had our Chem SPA which in my opinion was relatively easy but I think I labelled my table wrongly...Oh well, I shall just put this in God's hands because I can't do anything else about it already.

On Wednesday, I went on a 'Connecting with Nature' trail with a few of my friends. We walked from Henderson Waves along the Forest Walk and another walk(can't remember) to Hort Park. It was a free tour and we had a really good and interesting tour guide- Mr Tan Teck Chye! It was a 2 hour walk and so it was extremely tiring and hot. Went for lunch somewhere after that where we felt like we were ripped off. I shall mention not the place in case we get sued or anything. Ask me personally if you want to know!

Many things have also happened in this week but I shall have to stop here because I have to go and do something else now. Besides, this post is already very long. Alright, say goodbye to the March holidays and bring on the 10 weeks of school! I'm trying to be really positive about this even though I know it's going to be a mad rush and really stressful and all, but thankfully my trust is in the Lord and not on myself so I can look forward to what is coming with strength and good hope in the Lord.

In Jesus I trust to give me the strength and grace necessary to carry me through everything and emerge victorious in His name,

Amen

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. (Romans8:37)

<3,
Mandy :)
Hahah Mandy! I was just uploading the photos when i read your post. Here you go(:

Heh sorry, the jumping shots aren't with me.

And another one!

This is one really unique 3D picture dont you think?

So that's all I've got for the Walk;-Kathleen do you want the awful ones we took the day before?

I know you had a bad day; just know that I'm here, if anything. I feel like such a loser. I don't even know what to do to make you feel any better. I've been screwing so many things up these days. What is wrong with me? ARGH. I hate me.

Monday, March 16, 2009

Hey I actually wasn't planning to blog till friday(so i can cut and paste the lms blog post which i'm still diligently doing every friday!) haha. for me i guess it's alright la. it's an excuse to use the computer more every week and maybe, just maybe it will actually improve my english.

Over the past few days, many wonderful things have happened (all thanks to the Lord of course) but I'll only post them on friday cos I promised myself I'll do certain things before I stop using the computer for dinner and I haven't done them so yeah, you get the idea. My homework is currently progressing at a very slacker pace, I think I should force myself to complete homework faster. Every time, I sit down to do homework, I get distracted or feel lazy. That's the problem with holidays. I love holidays but holidays are a bad time to do tons of homework or revision. School term is so much more busy and stressful but at least I get the sense of urgency that is required to do things fast. Hmmm...

I'm getting really addicted to Hillsong's Mighty to Save. I love to praise and worship the Lord. Really humbles me when I see the Lord's love and grace for me...someone who doesnt deserve anything at all. Thank you so much Lord! Another great Hillsong song is Here I Am!

Here I Am
Light of the World
You stepped down into darkness
Opened my eyes
Let me see
Beauty that made this heart adore You
Hope of life spent with You
Here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God
You're altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me
King of all days
Oh so highly exalted
Glorious in heaven above
Humbly You came to the earth You created
All for love's sake became poor
I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross.
Call..
Call upon the name of The Lord and be saved

<3
Mandy:)
May all of you be...

Sighs.

Our blog really is dying, and it reflects the dying energy within me.
Being a student preparing for the horrid Os is seriously no joke man. Every lesson is crucial; if you miss out on anything you begin to feel lost. You can't even afford let your mind wander, which I had to realise the hard way:( Every day that passes is a day closer to the exams..

Yet I hate thinking so negatively. It just ain't me. I dunno, things have been pretty topsie-turvy I guess. What with all the stuff going on in my life. I dunno what came and stole the happy-go-lucky part of me one night and left me feeling so lost and confused. Ho hum. I just want that part of me back. But that something keeps pulling it back, and I end up looking like a confused, mixed up person who doesn't know what to feel anymore. I have a feeling it's partly cause I just miss you so much, Kathleen & Mandy. You guys used to be the ones who really knew exactly how to make coping with life's troubles so much easier. Your mere presence everyday gave me the strength to keep going, to laugh away everything. I don't know if you realised that; - in fact I think I've only started to realise it myself recently. I miss your corny jokes :P, our funny singing seesions, the times we shared. But yeah, I know I can't dwell on those memories and wish that they'd come back, cause they won't. What I hope is that we can at least sit down and spend some time together. And just be ourselves, just forget about the annoying Os and laugh.
Heh, and maybe if you'll still want to, we could have those study sessions; I believe we all can help each other? :) (tho mostly I'll be needing you two smarties to help me)
I love you.
Both of you, and being kept apart from you is slowly killing me, inside and out.
I need you, I really do.

I can almost see it
That dream I’m dreaming but
There’s a voice inside my head sayin,
You’ll never reach it,
Every step I’m taking,
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking but I
I gotta keep trying
Gotta keep my head held high

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an up-hill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb

The struggles I’m facing
The chances I’m taking
Sometimes might knock me down but
No I’m not breaking
*I may not I know it
But these are the moments that
I’m gonna to remember most yeah
Just gotta keep going
And I, I gotta be strong
Just keep pushing on
Cause...

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an up-hill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an up-hill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb

Keep on moving
Keep climbing
Keep the faith baby
It’s all about
It’s all about
The climb
Keep the faith
Keep your faith
